Letter from Diane (3/10)
First of all, I am so proud of you for your work at last Sunday’s concert! Your musicianship as well as your kindness and care for others was on full display. The joy that you brought to the community of people who attended our concert is something that I will remember for a long time. Way to go!
It was really great to have so many visitors at our open rehearsal this week! Thank you to all of you who invited friends and family members to join us. The only drawback was that we didn’t have very much time to fully debrief on our concert. I would have liked to have heard more about your experience with Light in The Well and any takeaways that you had from our concert. With that in mind, Wu created this google form to collect feedback from you. If you have a minute to fill it out, it will help both of us learn from your experience. Your response will be anonymous.
Our next big project is working on Poupel’s “Ode To Childhood.” As you know, it is a sophisticated piece with a lot of tricky parts. Our goal is to perform it at our next concert on April 25. This gives us six rehearsals to master this piece. So let’s dive in!
YOUR GTCYS 10
Use your practice time this week to reacquaint yourself with all three movements of the Poupel. We will work on all three movements next week.
Finally, I wanted to share the picture that Nathan from Light in the Well presented to me at the concert. He was really moved by your playing, and his sweet gift was a lovely way to express his gratitude. We now have another Camerata cat! I also heard comments from several audience members who were simply amazed by your playing. In particular, the conga player, Gino, wanted me to pass on how impressed he was with your musicianship. Same with Madelyn, our singer.
So, again, way to go! Your music made a positive impact in the world. I can think of nothing more gratifying.
See you next week! Until then, keep living your life Con Brio!
