Letter from Diane (2/24)
Dear Camerata Con Brio,
Thanks for your terrific work on Tuesday with Dan Mollick. He loved working with you and said you made great progress. Next week is our last rehearsal before our concert, so it’s time to dig in to getting the final details ready.
I met with Wu yesterday to work out the details of our concert and am so excited about our collaboration with Light in the Well! We will have an artist doing portraits of families before the concert begins, people from different countries singing a welcome song, wheelchair dancing, people blowing bubbles, people sharing their stories, and of course, all of you playing some really great music! If you know people who would enjoy a concert like this, please invite them to come. This experience is going to be something special!
So–let’s get to your GTCYS 10! I will list this in the order of our performance.
Shorey: Please play through the entire piece, stopping as needed to strengthen weak spots
PIrates: Same as above. Remember the notes that Dan gave you about “playing like a pirate!”
Gershwin “I Got Rhythm” Please practice with your metronome on. Our goal is 180! Anyone interested in playing a solo–be ready to play on Tuesday. If you are interested but did not get a chance to play last week, the door is still open!
Celebration: Play through with party energy. Strings–remember Dan’s notes about bow weight, speed and energy!
We want to honor this audience by giving them our very best work, so let’s dig in!
Look for a message from GTCYS with all of the concert details and remember that this concert is “family attire” meaning solid brightly colored shirts on top and black on bottom.
Have a fantastic week and keep living your life Con Brio!
