Letter from Diane (12/2)
Hello Camerata Con Brio,
Good work in sectional tonight! Strings, we got a lot of picky detail work done. Winds and percussion, Mr. Okwabi really enjoyed working with you and said your time together was productive and enjoyable.
We are down to one more rehearsal before our December concert, so now is a good time to buckle down and focus your attention on your parts.
Here is the concert line up:
- Carillon–Bizet
- Marriage of Figaro–Mozart
- Nostalgia–Gallante
- It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year–Pola and Wyle
Here is YOUR GTCYS 10
Carillon– Strings, please focus your practice on rehearsal mark E. We worked out some shaky intonation and rhythms in rehearsal. Now reinforce them with some successful repetitions in your own practice. Winds, continue to refine your work in the Andante section.
Marriage of Figaro–Please play through your part in its entirety. We will focus on refining our work on this next week. Violins–keep working on m. 135-139. EVERYONE would benefit from some metronome practice on this piece. Remember to activate your rests with a breath! This will help you not to rush.
Nostalgia–Please review your parts–especially if you have a solo
It’s the Most Wonderful Time…–Review your part for fluency and brisk and accurate playing
MEET OUR VIOLA SECTION!
Dani, Eddie, Elizabeth, Luna, Nandita, Andrew and Rosa, you add depth and beauty to our string section. Thanks for your great work!
Have a great week everyone, and always live your life CON BRIO!
