Letter from Dan (4/27)

Dear Concertino West,

Thank you for an excellent rehearsal last night! We used a lot of what we learned in our clinic at the U of M and applied it to our two Spring Festival pieces. We have just one more rehearsal until our final performance!

On Saturday, May 9, we’ll be performing two pieces at Spring Festival: Of the Extraterrestrial Sort and Lord of the Rings. You’ll receive details about the day soon!

• Jupiter – Keep reviewing and playing from memory
• Lord of the Rings
• Of the Extraterrestrial Sort
• Spring Audition Prep:
  • Record yourself playing one part of your audition and listen back. What’s one thing can you improve (rhythm, pulse, intonation, articulation)?
  • Practice a fast section in short bursts of 5 notes or less.
