Letter from Dan (3/30)

Dear Concertino West,

Thank you for a productive rehearsal this week! We learned that listening to one another really helps us lock in and stay together. Also, being aware of what part we are playing (melody, harmony, or rhythm) allows for better balance in our ensemble. Next week will be sectionals, so be ready to dig into your parts with your coaches and ask questions!

Your GTCYS10 this week:

  • Freshwater Pirates:
    • Practice m. 65 to the end
  • Lord of the Rings
    • Select three new spots to practice.
    • Work on these spots by focusing on rhythms, notes, and bowing/articulation
  • Of the Extraterrestrial Sort
    • Continue metronome practice! Put your metronome on at Quarter = 150 and practice mm. 22-67. Put space between all notes.
    • Strings: All string crossings need to be close and efficient, so we don’t slow down the tempo
  • School Tour Music to put back into your practice plan:
    • Russian Sailors Dance
    • Johnny Comes Marching Home
    • Beethoven 5
