Letter from Dan (12/15)

Dear Concertino West,

Congratulations on a wonderful performance this past weekend! Our ensemble has grown so much, and that progress is a direct result of your dedication to preparation, careful listening, watching, and working together as a team. I’m very proud of the work you’ve put in and I’m really excited to keep building on this momentum next semester.

Here’s a look at some fun and exciting things coming up:

• Lots of new repertoire, including music by Haydn (a composer who loved writing jokes with notes!) and selections from The Lord of the Rings
• Our Winter Retreat at Roseville Area High School. In addition to our intensive rehearsals that day, we’ll be hearing a performance MNáFiddlers!
• The option to participate in the Orchestrating Opportunities Fundraising Event
• A collaboration concert with the violin/cello duo, OK Factor
• A school tour this spring
• And our Spring Festival performance at Orchestra Hall!

Our next rehearsal is Monday, January 5. I look forward to seeing you in the new year!
