Dear Harmony Riverview Families,

Happy Spring break! It’s hard to believe we only have five more weeks of Harmony programming before the end of the Harmony year on May 14. Roots students are playing “Hot Cross Buns” and “French Folk Song,” and we are all learning Frere Jacques for our performance at Orchestra Hall in on May 10. Fifth graders are also working on “Gavotte”.

Last Call for Harmony Evaluations

We have had pretty low participation in the Harmony Caregiver survey, so we are leaving it open for a few more days. If you have not yet had a chance, please take five minutes to complete one by Monday April 6! Your feedback is deeply appreciated and helps inform updates and changes to the Harmony program.

Spring Festival Details and Ticket Information

Harmony will perform at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis on Sunday, May 10!

  • Both Harmony programs (LNFI and Riverview) will perform together at “Spring Festival III” on Sunday, May 10, at 3:30 pm.
  • “Call time” is 1:50 pm, which means students should enter the building right at 1:50 pm.
  • Here is our performance repertoire (the pieces we will perform): Ode to Joy, Frère Jacques, and Merengue del Primer Dedo. 5th graders from Harmony Riverview will also perform “Gavotte.”

GTCYS Orchestra Visit for Harmony Students – Tuesday, April 21

Returning Harmony students are invited to visit a Philharmonia East rehearsal (with pizza provided!) on Tuesday, April 21!

Here are the details:

  • Where: House of Hope Presbyterian Church (797 Summit Ave, St Paul)
  • When: 5:30 – 7:15pm on Tuesday, April 21
  • Who should attend: all Harmony students in at least their second year (and their parents or guardians) are invited. Students who are hoping to play in Philharmonia East next year are highly encouraged to attend.
  • What to expect: This event will include a meeting about GTCYS orchestra rehearsals and private lessons, a brief tour of the building, and a chance to observe part of an orchestra rehearsal!

¡Felices vacaciones de primavera! Cuesta creer que solo nos queden cinco semanas de programación de Harmony antes de que termine el año escolar el 14 de mayo.
