Dear Harmony Riverview Families,
The Havana Quartet Visited Harmony this Week!
The Havana Quartet performed for Harmony on Thursday! Two Harmony teachers are members of the Havana Quartet: Hansel Pérez Carrero (violin, Riverview) and Denise Hernandez (cello, L’Etoile du Nord). It was wonderful to see them perform a wide variety of engaging music. And, Denise taught us to dance the Cha-cha and the Mambo!
Harmony Evaluation for Family Members
We want to know how we are doing at Harmony from your perspective as a parent / guardian! You will receive a paper copy of an evaluation form to fill out next week (which will include a link to fill out the survey online).
Check your student’s backpack for the form on Tuesday, or check back here on the Member Page. In the meantime, I’d love to hear your answers to either of these two questions:
- Why is Harmony important to your family?
- How has Harmony helped your student grow?
You can share your answers here or just reply to this email!
GTCYS Orchestra Visit for Harmony Students – Tuesday, April 21
Mark your calendar – returning Harmony students are invited to visit a Philharmonia East rehearsal (with pizza provided!) on Tuesday, April 21!
Here are the details:
- Where: House of Hope Presbyterian Church (797 Summit Ave, St Paul)
- When: 5:30 – 7:15pm on Tuesday, April 21
- Who should attend: all Harmony students in at least their second year (and their parents or guardians) are invited. 5th graders and any other students who are hoping to play in Philharmonia East next year are highly encouraged to attend.
- What to expect: This event will include a meeting about GTCYS orchestra rehearsals and private lessons, a brief tour of the building, and a chance to observe part of an orchestra rehearsal!

Habana Quartet visitó Harmony esta semana!
¡Habana Quartet se presentó en Harmony el jueves! Dos profesores de Harmony son miembros del Cuarteto: Hansel Pérez Carrero (violín, Riverview) y Denise Hernández (violonchelo, L’Etoile du Nord). Fue maravilloso verlos interpretar una gran variedad de música cautivadora. ¡Y Denise nos enseñó a bailar cha-cha-chá y mambo!
Evaluación de Harmony para Familiares
¡Queremos saber su opinión como padre/madre o tutor legal sobre nuestro desempeño en Harmony! Mañana recibirá una copia impresa del formulario de evaluación (que incluirá un enlace para completar la encuesta en línea).
Revise la mochila de su hijo/a el martes para encontrar el formulario o consulte esta página para miembros. Mientras tanto, me encantaría conocer sus respuestas a estas dos preguntas:

Visita de la Orquesta GTCYS para Estudiantes de Harmony – Martes, 21 de abril
¡Apunta la fecha! Los estudiantes de Harmony que regresan están invitados a un ensayo de Philharmonia East (¡con pizza incluida!) el martes 21 de abril.
Aquí están los detalles:
- Dónde: Iglesia Presbiteriana House of Hope (797 Summit Ave, St. Paul)
- Cuándo: De 17:30 a 19:15 h, martes 21 de abril.
- Quiénes deben asistir: Todos los estudiantes de Harmony de segundo año o más (y sus padres o tutores) están invitados. Se anima especialmente a los estudiantes de quinto grado y a cualquier otro estudiante que aspire a tocar en Philharmonia East el próximo año a asistir.
- Qué esperar: Este evento incluirá una reunión sobre los ensayos de la orquesta GTCYS y las clases particulares, un breve recorrido por el edificio y la oportunidad de observar parte de un ensayo de la orquesta.
