Harmony LNFI Week 14
Dear Harmony L’Etoile du Nord Families,
We had two great days of class this week! As a reminder, there is no school or Harmony tomorrow, Friday 1/30.
Harmony LNFI Zoom Call with Harmony Riverview
On Wednesday, Roots students at Riverview and LNFI had the opportunity to play some music and meet one another briefly over Zoom! They also heard from some Harmony 5th Graders at Riverview about being an experienced Harmony student. Harmony LNFI will perform with Harmony Riverview at Spring Festival in in May, and Harmony summer activities will also include both programs. (Information about Summer Camp and “Harmony Jams” is coming soon!)
Harmony Homework
“Harmony Homework” is a new section of the newsletter, and will include some things to practice at home. This is for all Harmony students, but is particularly important for any students not currently attending Harmony in person.
For all Harmony Students: please watch the new videos on YouTube and play along with French Folk Song, Ode to Joy, and Long Long Ago. Roots should follow Ms. Denise (cello) or Ms. Laurie (violin). Returning students should play along with the melody.
Roots: Practice your best “Rest Position” and “Play Position.” Practice your bow hold with “Up Like a Rocket.” Play “Stomping Song” and “Ant Song.”
Returning Students: Returning students can play a D Major Scale and and D Major 3rds.
February Concert Reminders:
- Where: Two Rivers High School (1897 Delaware Ave, Mendota Heights, MN 55118)
- When: Harmony students should arrive at 1:15pm. The concert starts at 2:30pm.
- What to wear: “Concert dress” is “Black on top and black on the bottom.” More details on page 7 of the Harmony Handbook (linked on the Member Page).
