Harmony LNFI Week 11

Dear Harmony L’Etoile du Nord Families,

It was wonderful to make music together this week! Our “Value of the Week” was Courage. Courage is making brave choices, even when you feel unsure or nervous. It takes courage to use a new skill with your classmates and in front of an audience!

Open House Next Wednesday, January 14

I (Ms. Emily) will represent Harmony at the LNFI Open House for prospective families next Wednesday from 5:00-6:00pm! Any Harmony student is invited to drop by to play some music and represent the Harmony Program to families thinking about joining the LNFI community. If your student will be able to join me, I’d appreciate if you would reply to let me know, but you can also feel free to just stop by!

Instruments at home

Thank you for taking good care of your instruments at home over Winter Break. All Harmony students can now bring their instruments home from school! Here are a few reminders:

• All instruments should be stored in the Harmony room during the school day and picked up after school to take home.
• Remember to bring instruments to school on Harmony days! If a student forgets their instrument at home two times, they will need to leave it at school for two weeks as a consequence for forgetting it at home.
• Students are not required to take their instruments home. If they do bring their instrument home, please make sure they play it!
• If an instrument is damaged while at home, do not attempt to fix it. Send me an email and bring it back to school so we can arrange a repair.
• Cellos are not allowed on school busses, so students need to be picked up to take cellos home.

Getting to Harmony Safely

If you are currently not able to drive your student to school for any reason, please do not hesitate to reach out. I will do my best to help arrange a carpool or work with you to keep your student involved during a leave of absence.
