Fall Retreat

Hello GTCYS Concert Orchestra Families,

We are excited for your upcoming Fall Retreat on Saturday, September 27 from 11:15am–4:45pm. Please read through the details below. If your student must be absent for the retreat, please do not reply to this email: complete a Concert Orchestra absence form.

RETREAT INFORMATION

Saturday, September 27, 2025

Ted Mann Concert Hall, University of Minnesota

11:15am–4:45pm

• 11:00am: Student call time—enter through stage door
• 11:15pm: Orchestra rehearsal in Band Room (95)
• 12:25pm: Social activity
• 1:30pm: Lunch outside (weather permitting)
  • Students bring their own packed lunches.
  • NO NUTS policy: Do not bring anything containing nuts to any GTCYS activity.
• 2:20pm: Sectionals
  • Strings in Band Room with Jack
  • Woodwinds, brass, and percussion in Room 85 (Orchestra Room)
• 3:30pm: Orchestra rehearsal in Band Room (95)
• 4:45pm: Pack up and depart

WHAT TO BRING

• Packed lunch
• Instrument and accessories
• Music folder & pencil
• Small nut-free snack if desired
• Water bottle
• Cellos and basses: Rock stops!!

DIRECTIONS & PARKING

2128 Fourth Street South, Minneapolis

• The closest places to park are the 21st Ave. Ramp or Lot 94. The average parking rate is $1 per hour. You can read more about parking here.
• Enter through the Stage Door: From the main entrance, follow the GTCYS green signs to the left, by the loading dock. Once inside, follow signs to Room 95.
