About the Instructor: John Baumgartner is a professional trombonist and music educator based in the Twin Cities. During the past decade of teaching, he has focused on developing good musicians who are also good people, pushing students to develop their technique and musicianship alongside their kindness and awareness of the world around them. His experience ranges from preparing students for honor band, youth orchestra, and all-state auditions to helping professional players prepare for orchestral auditions.
John currently records and performs locally and nationally with cinematic rock group Coyote Kid, as well as a variety of other ensembles across a wide range of genres. He is also a composer with the Twin Cities Jazz Composers Workshop.

Lara grew up playing in the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) program and currently plays with the Linden Hills Chamber Orchestra. Lara is the owner of Maestoso Music Studio in St. Louis Park and is always willing to meet with new students.

About the Instructor: I am accepting new students. With 10+ years of professional teaching experience with students ranging from beginners through adult amateurs to college students and professionals, Lauren focuses on each student, adapting lessons and goals to the individual’s personal needs. Her philosophy is based on the teachings of Arnold Jacobs and Jan Kagarice, encouraging each student to not only develop strong technique and accuracy, but also move beyond the physical approach to playing and delve into true music-making and innate expression.
Lauren Husting is an active performer and educator in the Twin Cities metro. You can find her performing with Brass Lassie, the Adam Meckler Orchestra, and many other unique projects.

About the Instructor: Mr. Parke has a Masters of Music degree from the University of Minnesota and has been teaching privately for over 20 years.  His students have been accepted into every honor band in the state, many with 1st chair placements, while also participating in groups such as GTCYS, MYJB, No Limits Brass Choir, and many others.  Many of his students have also been offered music scholarships at schools ranging from Gustavus and St Olaf to prestigious conservatories such as Eastman, Peabody, and the Bienen School at Northwestern University.  Mr. Parke works with each student to craft a program of study to help them achieve the highest level possible with their skills.

About the Instructor: I’m currently close to capacity for my studio, but am making acceptations to take on exceptional hard-working students. I am a teacher, multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and composer based in Saint Paul. I am a freelance producer, arranger, session musician, and improvisor. I received a B.A. in Jazz Studies and Trombone from the University of Northern Iowa in 2009 and moved to the Twin Cities in 2013. My main projects are Har-di-Har, J.E. Sunde, Andandending, and TROMBONE BAND. Recently I have done session work as a trombonist and bassist for artists such as Eric Mayson, John Mark Nelson, Kristin Andreassen, Drone Band, Sister Species, Adam Zahller, Waldemar, YYY, Batteryboy, Eustace the Dragon, Dana T, and Brian Just.
