About the Instructor: Paul Babcock is a percussion instructor, director of Rimshots! at MacPhail Center for Music. Paul has worked with hundreds of students of varying ages and levels, and taught in numerous settings ranging from lessons to ensembles, to classes with young children and clinics and residencies throughout the state. In January 1996, Paul formed the percussion ensemble Rimshots! which has since recorded four CDs, performed over 400 concerts, toured France, Boston and Chicago, has won several awards, including being featured on the public radio show “From the Top.” Paul can be seen frequently throughout the Twin Cities as a freelance percussionist in both jazz and classical settings.

About the Instructor: Currently accepting new students. Erik received his Masters Degree in Percussion Performance from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Sweden and was the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship for these studies. He has performed with many groups in the Twin Cities including the St Paul Chamber Orchestra, VocalEssence, The Singers, The Children’s Theater, and is the percussionist for the Minneapolis Pops Orchestra. He is also a member of the percussion ensembles The Minnesota Percussion Trio and CRASH. He has performed throughout the world and the US as a chamber musician and soloist.
Erik has over 20 years of private teaching experience working with students throughout the Twin Cities.

About the Instructor: An active performer in the Twin Cities, Adam plays regularly with the Minnesota Orchestra, Minnesota Opera, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, and has played with musicals and other Broadway shows. He currently teaches at Gustavus College, and the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. Adam is the first percussionist to ever receive the Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in Percussion from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.

About the Instructor: Erich Rieppel is principal timpanist of the Minnesota Orchestra. Prior to that, he held the same title at the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Florida. Rieppel has performed as principal timpanist with the Seattle Symphony, Detroit Symphony, and New Jersey Symphony.  Rieppel has given masterclasses at the University of Minnesota, Indiana University, the National Youth Orchestra of the USA, the Northland Timpani Summit in Minneapolis, The Final Round seminar in Chicago, the Ibera Academy in Medellin, Colombia, and at the University of Panama.  Though a timpani specialist, Erich has professional experience with orchestral percussion, marimba, and drum set.  A native of Minneapolis, he grew up near Marshall, Minnesota.
