About the Instructor: I have taught students throughout the Twin Cities for 8 years, from very beginning to advanced. Many students have auditioned successfully into the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies, at the orchestra level appropriate to their development. Students in my studio focus on two primary areas: giving excellent performances in recitals, and on audition preparation. Playing in tune and with a beautiful tone are emphasized in all lessons.  The methods I give students to help achieve these goals come from my studies at Juilliard (Master of Music), Northwestern University (Bachelor of Music) and University of Minnesota (Doctor of Musical Arts).

About the Instructor: Since Greg started playing cello at 2 1/2 he has immersed himself in many branches of music, each cumulative aspect elevating the others: performance, composition, recording, education, entrepreneurship. His debut EP Some Dark, Beautiful Morning was orchestrated jazz fusion, but his newer work finds Greg as singer/songwriter; a nuanced interplay of natural and artificial, nature and technology. The language of music is unique in that it can provide every listener with similar yet distinct messages of truth, beauty, freedom; this has motivated Greg to express his own authenticity through precise songwriting and improvisation.

About the Instructor: I am an active freelance musician and play on a regular basis with Minnesota Orchestra and MN Opera. I love teaching and finding ways for each student to discover their potential. My students participate in monthly soirées, where they play for each other and give and receive feedback. I’ve taught in Suzuki programs at MacPhail and The String Academy of Wisconsin, at Carroll College, St. Thomas University, St. Olaf and in a fishing village in Norway. I have a Bachelor of Music degree and an Artist Diploma from Indiana University, where I was awarded a Performer’s Certificate and was Fritz Magg’s assistant. I have received two Artist Initiative grants from the MN State Arts Board for my solo cello work and am a 2020 McKnight Artist Fellow.
