NEW! We are pleased to announce a new orchestra summer camp for string students in the northeast metro! A joint collaboration between GTCYS, Mahtomedi Community Education and North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale Community Education, White Bear Lake Community Services, and White Bear Area YMCA, the new program provides elementary-level string students with an engaging week-long learning opportunity. Directed by GTCYS conductor Mary Sorlie, the camp is designed for 9 - 14 year-old violin, viola, cello, and bass players who have two to four years playing experience. The five-day camp runs June 21 - 25 from 8:00am to noon at Central Middle School in White Bear Lake. Activities include rehearsals, sectionals, music fundamentals (movement, theory, rhythm, and solfège), and social activities. The program culminates with a free public concert at 12:30pm on Friday, June 25. Submit registration form by June 11. Scholarships available.
